And on top of the world – still #1 in the local leagues, even though I admit, I’ve been more in the social sphere these days!

A Great Friendly!

Last Saturday, me and my friend had a stellar match!  His consistency is scary, and it was difficult to get anything past him.  We ended the set at a 6-6 deadlock.  But it was all in good fun, and an all together great match to play.

Back on Track!

Big Win yesterday – 6-2 in just a one-set tuneup.  Man oh man, though, I didn’t think I was going to survive – my serve was dogcrap the whole time! 

Luckily, a little short/long range topspin shots saved the day for me, plus a propensity for my adversary to smack shit into the net!

BECKER LOSES!

Yes folks, it’s a tough day here in Beckerland.  I lost my match yesterday, the Canteen championship.  No bones about it – everything was off and I just couldn’t get into a rhythm against my nemesis. 

 But it wouldn’t be fun if I won every match, now would it? 

 All I have to say is this:

Strive for Five!

5 wins in my last 5 matches!  Can you believe it?  I used the prince demo racket in this match, and for some reason, my hard spin serve was on fire, rocketing in on most occassions.  More than anything, I was happy to play with my good friend.

 After an 8-6 grueling first match, I cruised carefully in the 2nd to win 6-3. 

The streak continues!

Haven’t played my arch-nemesis in a while, but  I did play a mixed singles match last Saturday and took on:

 

Man, she didn’t have all that much power, but she was running me around like a labrador retriever at the park.  It was good though, and I started the arduous process of perfecting my second serve.  Fear the spin people!

That’s right dudes and dudettes – I went 3-0 last week against my arch-rival.  And my backhand finally showed up at the end – two strong baseline winners with it!
